About Atlanta Concerts

Atlanta is a great destination for live music. The city is especially noteworthy for its contributions to hip-hop and R&B, producing artists like Usher, Ludacris, and CeeLo Green. And as the most populous city in Georgia, and as one of the major hubs in the southern US, Atlanta is a frequent stop for artists of just about any genre: artists as wide-ranging as Idina Menzel, Metallica, and The Temptations played in Atlanta in 2017.

State Farm Arena, home to the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, is one of the busiest concert arenas in the world. State Farm Arena can accommodate more than 21,000 people at concerts.

If you’re looking for a more intimate venue, The Tabernacle is one of the country’s most historic. The building was a Baptist church for nearly a hundred years before it was converted into a House of Blues in 1996. The building got its current name in 1998 and has been called one of the best concert venues in the nation by Rolling Stone Magazine. Artists like Noel Gallagher, Circa Survive, Alice in Chains, and The Flaming Lips have all recently played The Tabernacle.

The Masquerade is another famous Atlanta spot for live music. The city has designated the building, which was built in 1988, as a historic site. It has predominantly been a venue for alternative music, with bands like Weezer, Tool, and Stone Temple Pilots having played there in the past. Live music plays at The Masquerade nearly every night.

What concert venues are located in Atlanta?

The Tabernacle is both a unique and highly-rated venue. The building was converted from an old church and fits concertgoers on three levels: on the floor by the stage and on two balcony levels. It’s the kind of thing you just don’t find everywhere. Atlanta also features State Farm Stadium, Truist Park and more.
