Constructed in 1921, the Music Box Theatre is a unique country manor-style building with a neo-Georgian design. The theater was originally created to showcase composer Irving Berlin’s “Music Box Revues.” One of the smaller Broadway theaters, Music Box Theatre remains a historic site known for hit shows. That includes classic plays such as The Man Who Came To Dinner, Bus Stop, Cat on A Hot Tin Roof, and Pippin.

The Music Box Theatre is in midtown Manhattan at 239 West 45th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenue.
The Music Box Theatre is one of the smaller theatres on Broadway with a maximum seating capacity of 1,025. You’ll find the seating chart below. Please note there are 538 Orchestra seats, 455 Mezzanine seats, 16 box seats, and 16 spots for “standing room only.”

When enjoying Dear Evan Hansen, certain sections of the theater will have advantages over the others. You should choose a section and seat based on your own desired experience and needs.
Theatergoers say Orchestra front center and front left seats have some of the best views of the stage. A few customers who bought front right Orchestra seats found their view of the stage partially obstructed. Wheelchair seating is available in Orchestra only. Front Mezzanine seats allow for a complete view of the whole stage.
Box seats traditionally offer a partial view, but customers said the seats provided an enjoyable vantage point of the stage and didn’t interfere with the ability to enjoy the play. Standing Room “seats” are at the rear of the Orchestra section, and while you can see the stage, you must remember that you’ll be standing for two hours, so it’s best to wear comfortable shoes.

You shouldn’t have issues with bags or backpacks, but you should expect to open them for inspection before entering the theater.
Dear Evan Hansen has a run time of about two hours and thirty minutes, including one intermission.
Turn right when exiting the theater and look for the door marked “Music Box Stage Entrance.”
All latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management. Typically, there is no late seating for Dear Evan Hansen. Latecomers may only be permitted into the theater after the intermission.
