    This App works

Great UI I can search though all the options and make the best choice of view and values The best way to search is to “include fees” to avoid any sticker shock at checkout.

About Dropkick Murphys Tickets

Dropkick Murphys formed in 1996 in Quincy, Massachusetts (just outside Boston). The original lineup included Ken Casey (bass/vocals), Mike McColgan (vocals), Rick Barton (guitar), and Jeff Erna (drums), with Matt Kelly coming in shortly after. They started very humbly—rehearsing and playing in the basement of a friend’s barbershop. Their aim was to mix punk rock, hardcore, Irish folk, and working-class Boston attitude into something raw, loud, and communal. Early on they self-released EPs and built their following through frequent live shows before getting signed to Hellcat Records in 1997. Their debut full-length album, Do or Die, came out in 1998.

As they evolved, Dropkick Murphys leaned more heavily into Celtic instrumentation—bagpipes, tin whistles, accordion, mandolin—while still keeping the punk energy. In 1999 they released The Gang’s All Here, followed by Sing Loud, Sing Proud! in 2001, which included collaborations with figures like Shane MacGowan of The Pogues and others, broadening their sound and appeal. Their 2005 album The Warrior’s Code marked a turning point: it featured “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” which became perhaps their signature song, especially after its inclusion in Martin Scorsese’s film The Departed. That album helped them reach a wider audience and cemented their status not just in punk scenes but in popular culture more broadly.

More recently, Dropkick Murphys have continued to release music that both honors their roots and addresses contemporary issues. Their 2022 album This Machine Still Kills Fascists was acoustic and built around unused Woody Guthrie lyrics; in 2023 they followed up with Okemah Rising. Their socially-conscious record For the People in 2024-25 also shows how they blend activism, working-class pride, and music. On the live front, their performances (especially their annual St. Patrick’s Day shows in the Boston area) remain legendary for energy, fan interaction, and community spirit. Over nearly three decades they’ve maintained a loyal fan base, sold many albums globally, and become an important voice for punk with roots in folk tradition and social conscience.

Are Dropkick Murphys going on tour?

The For The People…In The Pit Tour is Dropkick Murphys’ live concert run which includes their 2026 St. Patrick’s Day weekend shows in Boston as a centerpiece. The Boston leg doubles as a residency celebrating both the band’s 30th anniversary and the annual tradition of their St. Patrick’s Day performance. The concerts are scheduled for March 13-15, 2026 at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, plus a St. Patrick’s-Day night show on March 17 at the Citizens House of Blues in Boston. There’s also a special family-friendly afternoon mini-concert and meet & greet on March 14 at 2 PM at the Fenway venue, benefiting the band’s charitable foundation, The Claddagh Fund. Each adult ticket for that event allows bringing up to two children under age 13 for free.

The tour is tied closely to their album For The People, which was originally released digitally on July 4, 2025. Physical CD and vinyl editions are set for October 2025, and these include five bonus tracks not part of the original digital release. Thematically, the album and this tour lean heavily into the band’s working-class roots, social consciousness, and punk-folk fusion. The band has explicitly spoken about topics like justice, solidarity, and equality, building on their history of advocacy (including unions, labor rights, veteran support). The show experience is meant to evoke both energy and communal catharsis — mosh pits, singalongs, the full force of bagpipes + riffs, and moments of reflection.

In terms of what fans can expect more broadly: besides the Boston shows, there are European tour dates (fall 2025) already announced to precede the St. Patrick’s run. Support acts like Haywire are involved for the European leg. Support for the Boston shows is partly announced — Haywire will open for the Fenway shows. More support acts for other shows will be revealed. Ticket sales for the Boston residency begin October 10, 2025, with pre-sales before that. The tour mixes old favorites and new material, live production that emphasizes atmosphere and crowd connection, and special touches reflecting the band’s history and identity.
