About Drain Tickets
Drain formed in the late 2010s in Santa Cruz, California, when vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro, guitarist Cody Chavez, and drummer Tim Flegal came together with the goal of channeling the raw, high-energy spirit of hardcore into something both nostalgic and new. Emerging in a scene known for its DIY ethos and tight-knit community, the band quickly gained traction thanks to their explosive live shows, charismatic stage presence, and surf-skate aesthetic that set them apart from other hardcore acts of the era. Their early EPs and singles began circulating among fans of West Coast hardcore, helping Drain build a strong grassroots following well before widespread recognition.
The group’s breakthrough came with their 2020 debut full-length, California Cursed, a record that captured the band’s signature blend of old-school hardcore intensity and upbeat, sunny West Coast swagger. Critics and fans praised the album for its relentless momentum, catchy riffs, and Ciaramitaro’s enthusiastic, crowd-rallying vocal delivery. Drain quickly became one of the most talked-about bands in modern hardcore, landing spots on major tours and festival lineups. Their ability to turn every show into a chaotic, joyous celebration—complete with stage dives, circle pits, and community-driven energy—cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting young acts in heavy music.
In 2023, Drain leveled up again with the release of Living Proof, a more polished but equally ferocious album that broadened their audience and solidified their place at the forefront of the contemporary hardcore movement. The record showcased their continued growth as songwriters without sacrificing the explosive energy that first made them stand out. Since then, the band has toured extensively, headlining international dates and performing alongside some of the biggest names in hardcore and metal. With their infectious positivity, relentless work ethic, and electrifying live presence, Drain has become a leading force ushering in a new wave of hardcore for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
