Chevy Metal is a hard-rock, '70s & '80s–style cover band originally formed around 2002 by Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and his longtime drum tech/bassist Wiley Hodgden. The group started playing small dive bars and lounges in Los Angeles, focusing on deep album cuts and classic rock staples. Guitarist Brent Woods, a Randy Rhoads protégé, joined later and helped expand their reach to larger stages and festivals. After Hawkins’ passing in 2022, his son Shane Hawkins took over on drums, keeping his father’s legacy alive.
